All our neighborhood members are invited to attend this year’s Cookout and Annual Meeting on April 29, 2023 beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Overview:
This event is a great way to get to know your neighbors and the needs and current status of the neighborhood. This will be held at the Chickasaw Bluff Lakes Clubhouse at the corner of Sequoyah Dr. and Mattaha Dr. The Board chose the earlier time of 11:30 a.m. this year in hopes everyone would come out to enjoy a meal, get some community information and still have your Saturday afternoon to do as you please. We will eat and socialize first and then move into the Annual Meeting. During the meeting, the Board will discuss the previous year’s occurrences and financials as well as the current budget and upcoming events and needs of the community. If you have ever wondered where your dues are spent, this meeting is the best place to see where every dollar goes. We encourage all lot owners to attend and share your input. Only lot owners with all lot dues paid in full will be able to make motions or vote on any motions during the meeting.
Food:
Important stuff first, right? Hamburgers and hotdogs will be provided. We ask that you bring sides, drinks, and/or desserts for this potluck style cookout. Someone usually starts a post on the Facebook group in the week or two leading up to the cookout to discuss who’s bringing what for a general idea, but feel free to bring whatever you like.
Meeting:
The Annual Meeting will get started once everyone has had a chance to get some food and been able to eat and socialize a little. While this meeting does have some structured formalities, we try to keep it causal and allow members to speak throughout. The goal is to have a community where we all work together. You’ll get a recap of events, issues and other such information that happened over the past year in the neighborhood. You will also get a financial report showing all the expenses and income over the past year, plus the budget for the current year. There will be a time in the meeting to address old and new discussions of the neighborhood’s needs and issues.
Board Members:
There will be 5 Board Members whose terms will be complete at this meeting, so there will be nominations and elections to fill those vacated positions. Only lot owners with all lot dues paid in full will be eligible to serve and vote for these positions.
We hope all our lot owners can come out, meet one another and discuss the many things that will make and keep us a wonderful community. Hope to see you there!
